WHAT WE BELIEVE

At Life Christian Church, we acknowledge the following as our foundational, core beliefs:

God

We believe in one God who exists outside the boundaries of time. He is the Creator of all things and is worthy to be praised. He exists as the Father, manifest Himself in the flesh of Jesus Christ, and later returned (and still returns!) in the form of the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Timothy 3:16; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9). When one receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit, he will speak in a language he has never learned, as the Spirit speaks through him (Acts 2:4; Acts 10:46-47; Acts 19:6).

Sin and Salvation

We “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). We are saved by grace through faith because of the death of Jesus on the cross (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16).

Plan of Salvation

The gospel is the Good News that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). We must obey the gospel to show we have saving faith (Romans 10:16; James 2:17-18). We obey the gospel by repentance (asking forgiveness & changing your mindset that you now intend to follow God), baptism in Jesus’ name for the remission of sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, evidence by speaking in other tongues. (Acts 2:38; Luke 13:3; Romans 6:3-4; John 3:5; Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:16; Acts 19:5; Acts 2:4; Acts 10:45-46; Acts 19:6). Our repentance enables us to identify with Jesus in His death, our baptism in Jesus’ name allows us to identify with Jesus in His burial, and the infilling of God’s Spirit in our lives permits us to identify with Jesus in His resurrection.

Resurrection

Jesus is coming back for his church. All who have believed and obeyed the gospel will be caught up with those who passed from this life in a faithful relationship with God in the clouds to meet Jesus in the air and ultimately to our forever home in Heaven. Those who have not obeyed the gospel will experience the final judgment and ultimately experience eternal death (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11, 15).
