There is no greater way of showing our devotion to God than by giving of our financial resources. We give not only because we are required by Scripture, but because we want to bless the kingdom of God financially.
After all, Jesus said, in Mathew 6:21, āā¦where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.ā Because God is the most important thing in our lives, we believe we should show that through generous giving to him & the cause of the kingdom of God.
Why tithe?
The word tithe by definition simply means a ātenth.ā In other words, one tenth of our income never really belongs to us. It automatically belongs to God. By presenting our tithe, we are not really giving; we are simply choosing to allow God to have what rightfully belongs to him.
At the same time, God promised blessings on those who choose to allow God to have his tithe of our income. He stated, in Malachi 3:10, āBring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,ā Says the Lord of hosts, āIf I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such a blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.ā Why donāt you take God up on his challenge and put him to the test? He has invited you to do so.
