Do you know how the New Testament books are organized?
The New Testament has 4 divisions:
1. The Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These describe the birth of Jesus, the ministry of John the Baptist, The preaching and teachings of Jesus, The miracles of Jesus, and the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
2. The book of Acts – describes Jesus ascension to heaven; His command to the disciples to go to Jerusalem where they would receive the promised gift of the Spirit; the outpouring of the Holy Spirit; The water baptism of believers; The message to the Jewish people about what they needed to do to be saved; the birth and expansion of the Church; the preaching and ministering to the Samaritans at salvation; the salvation of the gentiles; the journeys and ministry of apostle Paul; the salvation of followers of John the Baptist; and the growth and expansion of the Church. (All salvation messages are preached in the book of Acts.)
3. The Epistles: letters to specific Churches, specific ministers; and general letters written to all Christians to explain to them how to live a Christian life.
4. The only book of prophecy in the New Testament: Revelation.
